Our Yacht Management team had a great experience at the 62nd annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, watching our amazing maritime industry come together to do what we do best, superyacht management. We met some amazing people and witnessed the beauty of gorgeous new superyachts models at the largest in-water boat show. For those of you who weren’t able to attend this year's Fort Lauderdale event, we are sharing everything you need to know about what happened at the 2021 FLIBS. The Fort Lauderdale Boat Show showcased an abundance of must-see new yachts on display and for sale and premiered some of the coolest new water toys.
Fort Lauderdale Boat Show News Recap
The 62nd annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show was back to full capacity since the event had to scale back in 2020 due to COVID-19. This year's event organizers and city leaders were ecstatic with the full-scale events turnout and the number of boats that were out on display each day of the Fort Lauderdale boat show.
The five-day event that started on Wednesday, October 28, and ended on Sunday, November 1 provided over 8,000 area job opportunities and helped bring in roughly about $1.3 billion annually. It is safe to say that the enthusiasm to host an incredible boating event brings plenty of excitement and opportunity to the city of Fort Lauderdale.
Ocean Alexander’s 35R Yacht Awarded Best of Show at FLIBS
Ocean Alexander presented for the first time a 35.6m 35R superyacht at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. As part of the Revolution yacht series, it stole the show and was awarded NBC Sports Best of Show. The superyacht was designed by Evan K. Marshall and Arrabito Naval Architects, with incredible exterior amenities, performance, architecture, and state-of-the-art technology that can host up to ten guests. Winning FLIBS Best of Show 2021 offered the superyacht its own one-hour special on NBC.
Yachting Seminars & Superyachts
FLIBS 2021 hosted 18 seminars over the five-day Fort Lauderdale event at the Convention Center’s Seminar Room and in Aquazone. The seminars allowed boat show attendees the opportunity to learn and engage with top professionals in the boating industry. Some of the fun and insightful topics were fishing, navigation, fire and safety, marine, as well as wildlife. The educational seminars at FLIBS were a huge hit to guests who attended as they were able to learn about an array of important topics.
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show hosted over 640 exhibitors and more than 68- boats from all over!
