A New Superyacht Village Introduced To The 2019 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the organizers at Informa U.S. Boat Shows announced a new addition in March earlier this year – the Superyacht Village. With this new marina and on-land exhibition space, the largest in-water boat show in the world will expand to over three million square feet. Located in Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina’s “Pier South” property, Superyacht Village will be the seventh site to be used at the show. Open to general admission ticket holders, the site can be accessed via water tenders and shuttle bus routes from the show’s other six locations. On-site valet and parking are also available for those driving to the venue.
Celebrating 60 Years At Fort Lauderdale Boat Show 2019
Every year, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show has attracted hundreds of thousands of boating enthusiasts and yachting professionals from all over the world. This 2019 Fort Lauderdale boat show marks the 60th anniversary of this world-renowned event. As part of the celebration, the shows’ organizers in tandem with Tavistock Development Company and the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF) worked hard to introduce Superyacht Village. Not only in an effort to expand the show, but also allow even larger yachts to be featured.
A Collection Of The World’s Largest Luxury Superyachts
Measuring at 3.5 acres, the marina at Superyacht Village can feature vessels up to 400 feet (121 meters). Up to 12 superyachts are anticipated on the dock in the site during the boat show. One of those luxury yachts may well be the M/Y Excellence. This 80-meter (262.5 feet) superyacht was built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2019 and features a unique exterior design by Winch. Multi-level windows and an inverted sharp plumb bow makes this vessel a must-see stunner. In addition to yachts, Superyacht Village will also be home to displays of helicopters, personal submarines, yacht toys, exotic cars, and more.
Other Things To Experience At The Superyacht Village
There will plenty of other things aside from yachts that will make the Superyacht Village a must-visit destination. Visitors will be able to enjoy an on-site gourmet restaurant as well as a few VIP events and pop-up exhibits. Be on the lookout for wine and champagne tastings, concerts, seminars, pop-up luxury fashion stores, and much more. The second annual FLIBS Best Yacht Chef Competition will also be hosted on the new site. Superyacht Village will be the crown jewel of this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show!
